 CUPIRE was founded in 1968 by the union of several Spanish slate producers who decided to combine their efforts in the extraction and production of slate. Six years later, in order to meet the growing worldwide demand for natural slate and with the entrance of new partners the company transformed into CUPIRE PADESA. In 2006, CUPIRE changes its name to CUPA GROUP.
